MediaRECOVER™- image recovery software

MediaRECOVER™ is an image recovery program. The program recovers lost files from removable media used in digital cameras, PDA's, cellular phones, etc. Common media types supported by the program are: SmartMedia , CompactFlash, Memory Stick, MicroDrive, xD Picture Card Flash Card, PC Card, Multimedia Card, Secure Digital Card, Zip Disks, floppy disks, hard drives and all other media. If images are accidentally deleted or formatted in a camera or on a computer MediaRECOVER™ can retrieve the lost data, even if the media has become corrupted. MediaRECOVER™ does not write to the media, but stores the recovered files in a user defined location.

MediaRECOVER™ helps you repair files that are unusable due to the following:

• Corruption due to the card being pulled out while the camera is on

Features

Recovers the following types of files:

• Images - JPEG, EXIF, TIFF, PNG, GIF, BMP, RAW Images; Canon CRW, Nikon NEF, Kodak DCR, others
• Audio/video clips - AVI, MOV, MPG/MPEG
  

The system requirements are:

• Memory card reader (USB preferred) - the media needs to appear as a drive letter
• All Windows® platforms are supported
• Hard drive (or another storage media) space the size of your media.
  

Format Option

The Format Option writes a DOS-compatible file system to the card. This prepares the card identically to DOS itself. No data is over written with new data. The Format Option corrects the media when the camera/PC states that the card is “corrupt, not initialized or not mounting”. Use the Format Option and then use the Recovery Option to get your files back from a corrupt card.

Wipe Option

The Wipe Option overwrites the entire card with zeros, including the file system areas. In the case of corruption or a non-working card this allows the card to be recognized and formatted again. Use the Wipe Option after filling your card and also to wipe old data off of the card. This allows the media to start factory fresh.

Excellent! Thank you! I just tried it out right now, and it worked phenomenally! I had a 128Mb CompactFlash that I used in my DC4800 digital camera and when I went to transfer the photos from it, the camera and my CF card reader both told me there were no photos on the CF card. However, the camera did realize that something was taking up the space on there. Your mediaRECOVER software worked wonders! I recovered 99% of my photos (only 3 photos from all the ones I took at my graduation ceremonies were lost). Thank you guys!!! Your software rocks and would highly recommend it to anyone! Probably the best $40 I spent on software recently!
